If the vehicle is in your name only – then you should be able to report it stolen
Just don’t tell them you used to live together – tell them you and he broke up and he took off with your vehicle.

You have a right to contact your local law enforcement agency and report your vehicle as “stolen”. It matters not if you lived together…if the title is only in your name then the car is yours…period.
If you feel that it has been stolen, then report it as a stolen vehicle.
Your ex-boyfriend has no legal rights to your vehicle.

OK, your car has not been stolen, there is implied consent, you lived together and he likely was allowed to drive the vehicle all the time. At best, the police might accept a report of your vehicle being taken without permission but that’s the best you are going to do. It will not get your vehicle into the stolen vehicle database either so no one will be looking for it on your behalf. If you can, cancel your insurance policy (some States insist that the plates be turned in before they allow this to happen but try anyway). Don’t know what type of vehicle this is so I don’t know if it makes financial sense or not but you could hire a skip tracer to help you locate the car.

Who is the car registered to and who is the insurance poilicy under? Texas is after all a community property state that honors common law marriage so if the car is in both or your names then you have a problem. As far as finding him, certainly someone in his family knows where he is, if you have to send a certified letter to him at eveyone of their addresses then do it.

report it to the local police as stolen and you reckon it was stolen by a guy in Texas and give them the names of contacts and their cities of residence. His punk AS* will rue the day he stole it.
